How Does WIN Work?

WIN (Who Is Next) is a dating app built on conscious choosing instead of endless swiping. In the decks you get, profiles are shown in pairs and you make the choice. Here's how it works, step by step:

  1. Sign up and verify

    Download the app and set up your profile. Choosing and seeing who picked you require selfie and phone verification.

  2. Selfie verification

    You take a selfie in the example pose, and your profile photos are compared with it automatically. Your selfie isn't shown on your profile. Your phone number is verified with an SMS code.

  3. Get your deck

    You see two people at a time, pick one, and a new pair comes in. Double-tap a profile to pick it. At the end of the deck, you confirm or pass on the person who remains; only the pick you confirm reaches the other person.

  4. When someone picks you

    When someone picks you, you're notified. The chat is started by the person who was picked. The person who was picked has 7 days to start the chat. For male accounts, seeing who picked you and sending messages in new chats are part of WIN Premium. For female and other accounts, they're free.

  5. Replies

    A reply is never guaranteed. Other users only see your approximate distance on your profile.

What is a deck on WIN?
A deck is the group of profiles WIN shows you. You see two people at a time, pick one, and a new pair comes in. Double-tap a profile to pick it. A deck ends in at most one pick.
How many free decks do I get?
Every account starts with at least 2 free decks. The free decks do not renew; some accounts may get a larger free allowance. When your free decks run out, you can switch to WIN Premium or buy a one-time deck pack to keep choosing. Both are bought in the app, through the App Store or Google Play.
Why is there no swiping?
Endless swiping can lead to choice fatigue and shallow interactions. There is no swipe feed on WIN: you see two people at a time, pick one, and a new pair comes in.
